Professional Education and Training (PEAT)
What is PEAT?
Professional Education and Training commenced on 1st September 2011 and all traineeships commencing from this date will be suject to the requirements of PEAT 2. Trainees will rquire to complete a minimum of 60 hours of Trainee CPD over the course of the training contract.
40 of your 60 hours must be provided by a licensed provider and LSA is pleased to have been granted a Licence C from the Law Society of Scotland. As a result LSA now offers Licenced Trainee CPD, tailored to meet the needs of trainees.
Why choose LSA?
LSA offers a high quality low cost option for trainees.
LSA is able to offer a personal approach to your training needs. Organising your CPD can be confusing but our seminars are delivered by a small team and we can offer you 1:1 telephone consultations to discuss your training needs. We can allocate your training file to one of our staff or request, so that you always have a direct point of contact.
In addition Legal Services Agency is a not for profit law centre, aiming to assist those in disadvantage who suffer injustice. Supporting us by attending our seminars and training sessions assists us to continue to work towards achieving our aims.
What courses are on offer?
LSA offers a combination of skills based sessions offered exclusively to trainees, as well as knowledge update sessions open to a wider audience. Both are verifiable as trainee CPD with PEAT outcomes.
Skills based sessions
LSA acknowledges the specific needs of trainees at the beginning of their legal careers and offers a range of skills based practical sessions, exclusively on offer to trainee solicitors.
