Hanan El-Atrash, a caseworker in LSA’s Women & Young Persons’ Department, has written an innovative and topical play that will be performed on Friday this week (22nd June) as part of Refugee Festival Scotland.

Entitled, ‘Please Believe Me!: Credibility issues in asylum claims’, the narrative centres on a fictional Home Office asylum interview.

The event is organised by the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic, where Hanan undertakes voluntary work. The performance will be followed by a talk from the British Red Cross’s Ruth McKenna on the topic of credibility assessments in the asylum process.

The event runs from 11:00am - 1:30pm on Friday 22nd June in Room 183, Graham Hills Building, University of Strathclyde. As of Monday, a limited number of tickets remain available.
