Siobhán Murphy, Solicitor

Siobhán Murphy is a solicitor who assists vulnerable women in asylum and immigration matters. As acting Head of Department, she also co-ordinates the Women and Young Persons` Department’s education and policy work.

Siobhán joined LSA in January 2017. Prior to this she worked in asylum and immigration law in a Glasgow-based firm. She is experienced in asylum and immigration applications and appeals, and regularly appears at the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. Siobhán has also dealt with social security, debt and housing matters.

Prior to studying law, Siobhán gained a Joint Honours degree in History of Art and Political Science. In her spare time she enjoys trekking the hills of both Scotland and her native Ireland.

Helen Wylie, Legal Secretary

Having joined LSA in 2007, Helen is the Women and Young Persons` Department`s longest-serving member. As the team`s experienced Legal Secretary, Helen provides the administrative support that enables the rest of the team to function.
