OBJECTIVES A full two days packed with all the essential elements of employment law including an overview of discrimination legislation! This course would suit those who have some knowledge of employment law and are looking to strengthen that knowledge. Topics covered will be:

PARTICIPANTS This seminar is aimed HR professionals or those with people management responsibility within their organisation, lawyers and other advice workers.
SPEAKERS The speakers are Chris McDowall, Associate and Alan Glazer, Solicitor both from the Employment Unit, Anderson Strathern LLP, Solicitors, Glasgow.
Chris advises on all aspects of employment law including contractual disputes, any discrimination/harassment issues, business transfers, data protection issues, unfair dismissal claims, the status of agency workers, whistle-blowing etc. Chris also has experience of advising clients in relation to their obligations under the provision of goods and services part of the Disability Discrimination Act and also to public authority clients in relation to their general and specific duties under disability and race discrimination legislation. Chris represents both employer and employee clients in the Employment Tribunal and has been involved in cases both north and south of the border. He regularly delivers training to clients and non-clients on employment issues and is a tutor at the University of Edinburgh. Chris is also a member of the Scottish Discrimination Law Association and the Employment Lawyers Association.
Alan deals with all aspects of Employment Law for both employers and employees, including disability and age discrimination, unfair and wrongful dismissal, compromising employment claims, redundancy and TUPE transfers. He has a keen interest in the development and application of anti-discrimination legislation.
